Q: Is there anyone who has undergone alternative medicine treatment for cancer?
My mother is a case of stage IV throat (oropharynx) cancer and has completed 9 rounds of chemotherapy and 40 rounds of radiotherpy? She is unable to eat anything due to the side effects of radio therapy and of course the cancer present in the oropharynx part. Is there someone who has undergone similar cancer treatment through alternative medication? Any answers will be highly appreciated?? My e-mail ID is shiv_cancermania@yahoo.com. Please help.

Apricot seeds and b17 saved my fathers life. Dx in January with stage 4 stomach cancer to the liver,my dad was not given much hope. Five months later after 1 bag of apricot seeds and 2 bottles of b17 my dad is cancer free. The doctors are stunned, they dont know what to say. The stomach and liver are totally clean. He did have 5 treatments of chemo each 3 weeks apart but I dont credit the chemo at all. Even his kidney doctor is amazed. He told my dad that his kidney function is the best its ever been in the 13 years that he has had diabetes.
The reason there is no scientific evidence for alternative treatments is that they are not highly profitable to big pharma. It is impossible by law for a substance to be considered to have scientific evidence unless big pharma submits it to the FDA,and they will only submit things that are very very profitable to them. So the many thousands of studies of natural substances that have cured or treated cancer are ignored by our government because they were not done under the control of big pharma.
Since most alternative cancer treatments are very inexpensive and non-patentable,they do not provide the cancer industry with a single penny of revenue so they are relatively obscure.
A great book to check out is Cancer Step Outside the box By Ty Bollinger. Take at look at the reviews at Amazon.

Q: Alternative medicine for stomach cancer surgery patients?
My brother, 54, got operated for stomach cancer 3 years back followed by chemotherapy & radio therapy. Gradually it narrowed & closed. 3 months back he again underwent surgery for obstruction removal and stomach bypass. Now it again narrowed and doctors are suggesting to open once again. Is there any alternative medicine to melt or remove stomach obstruction with out surgery. Please help. We are from Hyderabad, India.
A: No.
With the exception of very few, the vast majority of Alt.Med has never been demonstrated to work, and is also scientifically implausible.
Thenoseknows actually knows nothing. Homeopathy cannot have any biological effect. It’s never been demonstrated to work beyond placebo. Your brother needs to follow his Doctors advice.
Be careful, there are plenty of quacks on the internet who have no problem lying and taking advantage of desperate people.
Q: Suzanne Sommers very critical about chemotherapy and radiation and commented on several celebrities why?
Sure she is alive now and they are dead (Swayze, and Fawcett) at the writing of her book. She is critical about traditional methods and have opted for alternative methods. Is she on to something?
A: I don’t normally read all answers before I write mine because I want mine to be just that, mine and not a follow up on someone else. I’ve read all the answers this time. I have to give a bottom line. Suzanne Sommers will see one day what a fool she’s making of herself. Yeah, and is it worth all that money she’s making to put her “perfect, natural, body” through poisonous Botox, which contains the lovely bacteria, Botulism. She seems to have double standards. If Suzanne had the type of breast cancer I had or any one on here had, would she be so willing to poo poo chemo and radiation if it were to save her life? Lets face it. I’ve even tried these wonderful teas that “prevent” and cure cancer. I fell for that hype, For 2 yrs I drank this horrible tasting tea that came with hundreds of testimonials saying how thier cancer was cured and even used the name of a well known Massachusetts family.. Saying the boy’s life was saved by his drinking of this tea. Cancer being so strong in my family, kind put me between a rock and a hard place and I thought, “Why not” 2 lousy years and then, BANG. “you’ve got breast cancer” Some day, someone is going to let Suzanne know that some of our best medicines already come from well know plants, trees, etc. She’s trying to sound like she’s the one that invented this stuff. So, there’s nothing we can do about it. If this is the only way she can make money, that’s her fortune, no one has to buy to dumb assinine books. But there will always be people like me looking for a way out only to find out how much money we waisted on useless products. Good one Dave. Makes me wonder, would I have ended up with 10 tumors if I hadn’t drank that tea? I’m going with what Doctors everywhere are prescribing now. God bless.
Q: my mother in law has been diagnosed of cervical cancer stage II. what alternative medicine can she take?
she doesn’t want to undergo chemotherapy & radiation therapy. can somebody give me other alternative or herbal medicine for her. thank you
A: She may have legitimate reason for not wanting conventional western medicine. However, if you care for her, you will convince her to pump herself full of the poison that is chemotherapy. If alternative medicine were remotely as effective as chemotherapy…don’t you think it would have been BIG primetime news by now? Besides, most alternative medicine focuses on prevention….stage II right? It might be a little too late.
Q: Are there any alternative treatments for skin cancer?
I’m doing a report on melanoma for Biology, and I need to find another treatment apart from Radiotherapy, Chemotherapy or pain relief. I can’t find anything on Google.
A: Yes, the alternative treatment for skin cancer other than those you mention is simple, you leave it alone, hope it gets better, and then die sooner, that’s why you can’t find anything on google , unless there are some other scams out there that I haven’t seen yet.
All the treatments you mention have side very significant side effects, don’t you think if drinking vitamin C supplements etc worked the whole cancer foundation would pack up and go home?
Q: what is the best alternative treatment for metastatic breast cancer?
it all started as ductal carcinoma of the left breast. it would now appear to have spread to the lungs, and probbly other organs and the bones. of late, what appears to be metastatic spread in the lungs would no longer respond or react to the drugs introduce as chemotherapy
A: I’m sorry to hear that you or someone close to you has secondary breast cancer. Why do you say it ‘appears’ to have spread, is there a chance that it hasn’t? What do the medical team involved advise regarding treatment?
As far as alternatives go, there are alternative and complementary therapies that will make you feel better, but none that have been proven to be at all effective in treating cancer.
I’m sure you know, since you’ve come this far, that wherever there’s cancer there’s someone waiting to make a fast buck out of people’s desperation by selling ineffective and sometimes dangerous ‘cures’. There are also well-meaning and caring people who will recommend diets, herbs etc. Then there are the cancer hobbyists who pop up on here most days – people who have never studied, had or been close to cancer but consider themselves experts because of something they’ve read or heard.
If you are interested in any particular ‘alternative’, do a search on http://www.quackwatch.org before committing any time or money. And always be wary of unsubstantiated testimonials and anecdotes; you have no way of knowing if the person ever had cancer in the first place, much less was cured.
If you don’t use them already, I recommend these websites. Both have loads of information and both also have forums where you can talk to people who are or have been in the same situation as yourself, whether it is you or a loved one who has cancer

Q: Chemotherapy – what exactly is it and what does it involve?
Obviously I know it’s for the treatment of cancer, what I’d like to know is ………….
What is involved?
What is used?
What is an alternative?
Thank you.
A: It involves spending time in hospital, either on an outpatient basis or for a few days. The treatment is administered at intervals depending on the stage and type of cancer, and the health and age of the patient. The medication is given via a drip feed, generally into the arm. In most cases the patient sits in an armchair and reads, or listens to music for the several hours involved. Side-effects again depend on individuals and can vary from nothing to hair loss, nausea and infertility. The alternative is radiotherapy and I believe that the latter has more side effects.
Source: My first husband had liver cancer and went through chemotherapy, sadly losing the fight at only 33 years old. I can say, however, that the chemotherapy gave us extra time, and he did not find it particularly unpleasant.
Q: Should the government force teens to take chemotherapy?
Recently a 16 or 17 yr. old boy with relapsed Hodgkin’s Disease chose to decline a second treatment of chemotherapy because of how severe his side effects were the first time around. He and his family chose alternative medicines and herbs instead (which are not FDA approved). The boy said he doesn’t think he could survive any more chemo and doesn’t want it. Now social services is stepping in, saying his parents are guilty of medical neglect. The same happened about six months ago to a 13 year old girl. She was put into a foster home and given chemo agains her and her parents wishes (and to the best of my knowledge, she still isn’t in remission)
Should the courts in this country have a say in our medical care? And should they be allowed to force treatments on us and our children? And if so, where do we draw the line?
Here is a link to the story, if anyone is interested
http://articles.news.aol.com/news/_a/teen-fights-for-right-to-pick-cancer/20060712050109990002?cid=474
As a Hodgkin’s Survivor myself, I might add that the survival rate drops when the cancer becomes refractory or relapsed.
Also, the boys doses of chemotherapy would be higher than the initial ones, possibly even high dose chemotherapy plus a stem cell/bone marrow transplant. Which would put him into the hospital for a month while the administer doses high enough to destroy all of his bone marrow (easily quadruple normal chemo doses)
Also, for anyone that believes a 17 year old should be forced to have toxic chemcials pumped into him based on government order, should the government be held accountable if the treatment harms him?
A: No, the government has no right to step in and tell anyone what medication they have to take unless they are a danger to society at large. The problem is that as time goes on the government is seen less and less like a governing agent and more and more like the society’s parents- dictating such things as seat-belt laws, helmet regulations, so on and so forth. The fact of the matter is that people for the most part are more than willing to allow the government to tell them how to live, and cases like these are simply the natural out growth.
Q: ‘Cannabis’ may halt breast cancer?
http://news.bbc.co.uk/1/hi/health/7098340.stm
A compound found in cannabis may stop breast cancer spreading throughout the body, US scientists believe.
The California Pacific Medical Center Research Institute team are hopeful that cannabidiol or CBD could be a non-toxic alternative to chemotherapy.
Unlike cannabis, CBD does not have any psychoactive properties so its use would not violate laws, Molecular Cancer Therapeutics reports.
The authors stressed that they were not suggesting patients smoke marijuana.
They added that it would be highly unlikely that effective concentrations of CBD could be reached by smoking cannabis
whats your take on this
cowboydoc – the info is from the link
A: Cannabis MAY halt breast cancer. May is a small 3 letter word that means it could or it couldn’t. These researchers have to stop sending out mixed messages.
This is what certain researchers say about Cannabis
Cannabis can give you schizophrenia
Cannabis is ok in moderation for illnesses like MS
Cannabis can lead on to harder drugs
Cannabis may halt breast cancer
etc etc etc
All these mixed messages do not help anyone
Q: Alternative therapies for pancreatic cancer?
If you know of anything might help pancreatic cancer please let me know, either here or by email. I am undergoing conventional chemotherapy but my prognosis is not good. I’m 22 so want to fight this aggressively. If you don’t know anything to treat the cancer please suggest anything for the pain. Thank you.
Thank you Lillian.
And thanks Gary. You are right to advise me to be careful but I’m at a point where I’m open to suggestions. Please feel free to email me to discuss further.
A: I’m so sorry to hear this Benjamin, and I do hope that this cancer stops and you can fight and win!
I can’t tell you medicines that will help, but I can tell you about nutrition that is also important. Have you heard about eating food RAW? It’s something that vegans and very strict vegetarians do. In order to fully absorb the minerals that are found in a product, vegans cook food under temperatures less than 110′F. Consuming foods RAW is an excellent way to get vitamins and minerals. You see these multivitamins and big white pills that companies put out there for consumers. And even though they help, you want to stay away from things that are processsed. When you look at the labels, the less ingredients the better, because this is what gives you the most healthy nutrition you can possibly attain.
I’ve seen something similar to what I’ve just said on Oprah about a woman who was fighting stage four cancer. She is also vegan and this has been keeping her as healthy as possible, and it’s been working very well.
I really hope that your treatments get the better of your cancer.
Q: Do cancer patients have the right to refuse chemotherapy?
A 16 yr. old kid is fighting doctors to avoid chemo; he wants to explore alternative medicine.
A: Adults can refuse treatment. In Abraham’s case (the 16 year old) The court ordered the parents to sign his papers, saying they were okaying the treatments. The parents fought the verdict and had it overturned, temporarily, in the higher court. They will be going back into court mid-August again.
I think if the treatment has failed once and the patient had a hard time with it, they shouldn’t be forced into a second time (a treatment that will be much more invasive than the first) This is America, not Nazi Germany. We don’t tie people down to beds and force deadly chemicals into their bodies. That’s why we fight for “choice” in this country.
Q: My mother is losing her hair due to chemotherapy..What can she do to lessen the hair loss?
She has not lost all her hair so just looking for alternatives to prevent all of it from falling.
A: I didn’t try this but I heard that if you use a cold pack on your head during chemo that it will help with not losing hair. Chemo kills all rapidly growing cells, i.e. hair too. If that doesn’t work then she could take control of her situation instead of letting the chemo control it by having a buzz party. That way all of the close friends and family she has will get to take part in her baldness and at the same time see her bald so that it take the anticipated shock that she feels others may feel away and ease her mind…She would have essentially taken control of her self instead of letting chemo take control.
Q: Is Chemotherapy right for a 65 year old woman?
My mother has a breast cancer. She went through the lumptectomy surgery twice to remove cancer. The infilterating cancer was very small 0.7cm (but DCS was 2cm). The report indicated negative for the lymph nodes and margin. But HER-2NIU test was positive. Then the doctor recommended Oncotype Assay test which revealed her score of 52, considered high for aggressiveness that means 34% chance of recurrence within next 10 years.
She has to decide between radiation therapy and chemotherapy. She is very scared of drugs and its side affects including hair loss etc.
Doctor says chemotherapy should help her in this case.
She is 65 years old. Is this a good treatment for her? Is there any other alternative treatment that is equally good that we can consider?
Please help us with your knowledge.
A: Hi A-Man
There is always another way, but what are people willing to do is another question. Cancer is just another disease with the body in a toxic state level higher than other diseases. You can cure it, but one has to have an open mind and look for answers outside the medical field. Modern medicine only suppress’ the symptoms to other locations in the body, it never truly heals it.
Cleansing the body is a method Ive seen done many times with success and it doesn’t matter how old you are. Must remove the toxins in the blood. One strategy is detoxifying with herbs, water, and juice fasting. One must educate himself on the subjects Ive mentioned and there are plenty of good cleansing techniques out there. Here are a few websites and their programs I recommend.

Q: can you give me an opinion on the government forcing someone to take chemotherapy, more details inside…..?
Abrahm Cherrix, a Virginia teen who was diagnosed with Hodgkin’s disease at age 15, underwent chemotherapy, relapsed, and then refused to undergo any further chemotherapy, opting instead for an “alternative medicine” treatment known as the Hoxsey treatment. His parents supported his decision. A judge recently ordered Abrahm Cherrix to undergo the recommended chemotherapy. Did the judge make the right decision? Does a 16-year-old have the right to make their own medical decision? Can the state ever step in if there is evidence that the decision is against the best interest of the child?
A: The government should not step in. This is a bad sign. If it is about health, how far can they go? NO ICE CREAM FOR YOU!
Q: Help please. a family friend has liver cancer. can you name any doctor or clinic where he can be cured.?
Is there an alternative cure other than chemotherapy etc ?
this is an emergency. we want this guy to live. he all his life helped others in need..please take a few minutes to let me know if there is hope.
A: Yes, there is alternative treatment. One called Cryosurgery. I have my uncle who received such treatment last month.
