Q: Could you help me with this essay just read it and tell me what you think or something i should change or ass?
The assignment was to write about a lesson we learned when we were younger.( I am in 9th grade now)
Lesson
Everyone can make a difference. Every life and death changes the world in their own way. Whether your life lasts one hundred years or one hundred seconds we are all important.
As I began my first day at a new school with new faces and a different building, I felt as if my past had been washed away. I felt like I had to completely rebuild myself. I have never been shy or quiet so I easily began to make new friends within my first week of school. At the beginning of my second week I was elected as class president (a.k.a Homeroom representative ) for the 5th grade on student council. I expected the responsibility thinking it would must be just another easy way to miss class. Little did I know I had just started on a journey that would diverge on a new path that would change me as a person.
Later that month at my first meeting, which was extremely unexciting , I still felt unimportant or as if I was just another animal in the forest among thousands of others, nothing really different or special. Also I was completely unconvinced that I alone could make a difference in the world. It was about two months later when I finally began to realize how wrong I truly was.
After A very long meeting, the Student Council decided to do a breast cancer awareness fund raiser. All we were planning to do was to have a simple bake sale which all the profit would go to a breast cancer research center. To me it sounded bland and I thought we could defiantly do better. Later that night something sparked in me like a switch that just turned on, so I went on the computer and sure enough I found exactly what I was looking for. The next day I got it approved by the president and by lunch time that same day an order for 300 breast cancer pins, posters, and an informational packet on breast cancer was being sent to our school. Two weeks later we raised over 650 dollars for breast cancer. Sometime after that I realized the butterfly effect I had just set into play, slowly making a difference in the world to someone, somewhere, whether it be a patient of breast cancer or a family member that was effected by a person with breast cancer . Either way I had touched someones heart. In a way I told the that there were people out there trying their best to help them .
By doing something for someone else I also received something in return. By my act of kindness I realized that I meant something to someone, somewhere, and I would probably never meet that person but the fact that I had done something for someone made me feel important, no longer just a animal among thousands of others but a lion . At that time I truly understood the lesson which I had learned . That lesson was, we can all change the world in our own special way whether it be big or small, we all have a purpose , making each and ever person on this earth important. Finally understanding this lesson allowed me to open new doors of importance and greatness in my own life and in the lives of others , truly changing me as a person.
Thank anyyyy comments would be helpful

Q: Why do so many countries have similar military uniforms?
Medals and pins on the left breast, brim on the hat, basically everything is the same, taiwan, russia and the u.s. not to mention countless others, but i can’t find a good source on this
A: Camouflaging decides the colour of the uniform. The modern military is based on the British system and you are aware America was once a British Colony like India, Australia, Middle East etc. to name a few. They had followed the tradition. and taken the British system as the role model.
An interesting story. Once the Frech President De Gaulle visited British and was wearing an honorary medal wrongly and at the military congregation every one was wearing the medals in the same he wore as a mark of respect to the honoured guest.
Q: i have good size breasts and i keep getting these big bumps about the size of a dime pop up on them all time?

A: sounds like hives, an allergic reaction to something, maybe your bra
Q: I have pins and needles in my breast?
its only in the one breast and it is like a fizzing sensation I take Thalidomide at night could this be a side effect
A: I think it is stress!
Q: Does any-one know the lyrics of this old song?
A father came from work one night
to find his house with-out a light
he went upstairs to go to bed
when a sudden thought came to his head
he went into his daughter’s room
and found her hanging from a beam
he took his knife and cut her down
pinned on her breast these words he found
o’ dig my grave and dig it deep
and lay white lillies at my feet
and on my breast do place a dove
to show the world i died for love.
I know the tune, but not all the lyrics.
Thank you in advance.
I just want to thank you all, you’re a great bunch. For Diane:There’s nothing wrong with me,I heard this song around a camp-fire in my youth, maybe i’m just being nostalgic, sorry if the lyrics upset you.
A: The Sailor’s Lament
A man came to his home one night,
To find his house without a light,
He went upstairs to go to bed,
When this thought came into his head.
He went up to his daughter’s room,
There he found her hanging from a beam,
He took a knife and he cut her down,
And on her breast this note he found.
My love is for a sailor boy,
Who sails far out upon the sea,
I often write and think of him,
He never writes or thinks of me.
My apron strings they used to meet,
I used to tie them in a bow,
But now my apron strings won’t meet,
Around my waist they will not go.
Oh father I cannot stand the shame,
To bear this child without a name,
So dig my grave both wide and deep,
And place white lilies at my feet.
They dug her grave both wide and deep,
And placed white lilies at her head and feet,
And on her breast they placed a dove,
To signify she dies for love.
So all ye maidens bear in mind,
A sailor’s love is hard to find,
And if you find one good and true,
Don’t change the old love for a new.
Q: Should i worry about baby only kicking in one spot?
I am 22 weeks pregnant and have felt baby kick for the first time at 18 weeks. But all the kicks are always in the same area, on the left hand side. I am just wondering if this is normal, i am just worrying that pelvis might be tilted making it very hard for baby to change position.
Also, i have a very weird numb feeling between my ribs, below my breast. It feels like pins and needles and gets quite sore. I have been told this is quite common in pregnancy but does anyone know how i can make it feel better?
A: Not all babies move around a great deal. My first was very content to lie quietly and he hardly moved the whole pregnancy, whereas my friends would all be complaining about kicks under the ribs, huge shiftings etc and I’d be wish it was me!Baby will soon move if it wants to. Numbness is also common. Baby will be lying on a nerve and this might go when any big move are made. Try stretching out as far as you
can reach above your head. Might be more comfy lying on your back to do that.
I don’t suppose this has anything to do with your question at all but I was always told to lie on my left hand side in bed, Now, there is a reason for that but it escapes me completely at the minute!
Enjoy your pregnancy but if there is ever a time you are unsure about anything then get in touch with your health visitor or doctor. They’d rather your mind was at rest than worrying.
Q: Here are two poems for your consideration, they are non-rhyming and biograpical, may I have your comments?
HOME ON MONTANA AVENUE
Out front on the grey steps
Two boys sit in blue pin striped
Double breasted suits and
Grey Homberg hats with
High starched collar shirts
Hand painted silk ties
Incongruous
On ones so young.
My brother grandfather
Would take fishing
Off Montrose Harbour
Where I remember
Them catching striped bass
But I would toddle along
Behind him to the
Cook County Public Library,
They’d bring home hot tamales
From the street vendor
On their way with pickled chili
Green peppers in a jar
That burned my tongue
When I ate every one.
Grandmother found me
Wandering in and out
Of the pantry where
The quart of Wild Turkey
Was kept now nearly empty
And put me straight to bed.
HOME WHERE MY FATHER DIED
A home on the second floor
Wrought iron porch clear across the front
Sounds of jazz from the bar below
Where they draw you up a beer
And serve it with white wine.
There’s no whining here
I reached behind the condenser fridge
Drew out a large shiny black bug
To show my mommy the pretty
Bright red hourglass on its tummy
She failed to be impressed.
In the yard behind, thick and overgrown
The heavy leaves of a banana tree
Engulfed my brother and me
In the bathroom sink we proudly
Kept a baby cayman alligator
Some girls had given us in the park
Mother threw it out when it bit her.
We could look down the narrow street
To see the Cathedral at the end
Yellow in the noonday sun
From which our father was buried
When at the last his race was run
The band played slow going out
And fast coming back.
I remember the heavy scent
Of roses and lilies on that day
The large Mississippi catfish
That was so hard to kill and cut
And the sweet bananas
Frying in the pan by our Creole cook
All things I never could store in a book.

Believe it or not I was two years old in the first poem and barely four in the second. My older brother was only eleven months older than I. My grandmother’s and father’s deaths, hardly one month apart, the two people closest to me made a very great impression, as well as the very vivid environment in which I lived. Mardi Gras was in full swing at the time my father died, and he had owned one of the bars on Chicago’s North Side. I had my own charge account at the local store.
A: both poems illustrate how we (or you, in this case) use our senses to explore and organize the world around us at an early age: the clinking of the gate, the hot scent of the lilies, the observation of a nearly empty liquor bottle and not just a fridge but a ‘condenser’ refrigerator, not just a library but ‘cook county public’ libarary… all tell me you were very impressionable and had a keen eye for details. especially, emotionally loaded details on personally memorable events like these.
mental pictures based on snapshots – thank you for sharing and i hope it was more than therapeutic and less than painful – and if you haven’t already, i’ll wager that you could paint or sketch some excellent illustrations to accompany these poems.
Q: Since Hydropro didn’t show on the poem he brought to mind previously, I’ll share its prequel, comments?

A: The things we find in the memory bank…It seems the more I remember, the more I remember….Quite nice !!!
Q: Is this a sign or is it nothing?
I don’t have Breast Cancer but I just bought a Breast Cancer Awareness Ribbon pin that has the pink ribbon and the word “Hope” on it. I keep it on my purse, and for some odd reason, it keeps falling off. Is this some kind of sign?
A: Hey I know this scared the heck out of you and I can sympathize with you because my sister died of breast cancer. You can either get all weirded out by this or you can be proactive which is monthly self exams, knowing your family history, yearly mammogram, talking with the doctor about your history and health risks including a yearly physical. This along with a good diet, plenty or exercise is all one can really do.
The clasp is likely defective so you can just tuck it into your purse, make a necklace of it or buy a new one. In the end call up some friends you haven’t seen in forever, have some fun and live a little
Q: It hurts when i touch the side of my left breast. I always thought that a syst due to cancer was not painful.
When i touch the side of my left breast it hurts, i can;t rub up against it at all. I think i feel a bump but an not sure if it could be muscle tissue. But when i press, it is sensitive I always thought a syst is not painful. I have an appointment to see the doctor. Sometimes this breast feels like it is being poked with a pin, like a burning feeling.
A: I wouldn’t panic. It could be a cyst, but it’s always a good idea to have it checked out. I’m glad to see you’re going to the dr. Even if it’s nothing serious, it should be monitored by your dr. I was diagnosed with breast cancer last year and my tumor wasn’t felt and I had no pain from it. It was found on a routine mammogram. Early diagnosis is the key. Make sure you’re doing your monthly self-breast examinations. If you feel something different or anything of concern to you, you should have it checked.
I’m not sure of your age but by the age of 20 you should be seeing a gyno for a yearly exam. At the age of 35 you should have your first mammo and then at age 40 a mammo every year. Earlier for any of these if you’re at high risk for breast cancer. Best of luck at the dr!

Q: How do I cut a chicken breast if I want to stuff it with cheese?
I would like to cook a recipe which involves stufing a chicken breast with cheese and then wrapping it in parma ham.
I’m aware that I need to bash it with a rolling pin but I not sure how to cut it, roll it up and secure it if neccessary, to present it in a nice way and to stop the filling from seeping out.
The instructions on the recipe are not that clear.
Thanks : )
A: You need boneless chicken breasts. Lay them skin side down and pound them flat. Put the cheese in the center of the breasts, and fold ends over the cheese; roll up, beginning with long side. Secure rolls with toothpicks. I’d go easy on the cheese, because it will melt and ooze out. There’s not much you can do about that, because it’s the nature of cheese to melt when it’s baked.
Now start with one end of the breast and roll it up like a jelly roll. Use toothpicks to keep it closed. Wrap the ham around and secure if you’re using that on top. Place the rolled chicken breasts in a baking dish with the seam and toothpick side down.
Note: I’d put the ham center with the cheese, like with Chicken Cordon Blue, rather than the outside, as it would be less likely to burn while the chicken’s cooking to the right temp.
Q: Breast mass? What should I do?
I have noticed something on my right breast when I was 18. The doctor said it is a small cyst. Now I am 30 and I feel pain on my breast before menstruation like a pin of needle inside.I’m afraid its going to be malignant is there a chance to survive? Please advice
A: You must go to a doctor and get his advice as soon as possible. Do not delay. In earlier stages it can be cured so don’t take chances.
Q: Does anyone know where I can find a picture of just a pink ribbon tied around a safety pin?
I’m working on getting a Breast Cancer Awareness Day going at my college. We might be selling t-shirts and donating all the money to the ACS, but I also wanted to sell pins, but the Komen Foundation is dragging their feet about getting back to me so I thought I’d just make pins, but I just wanted to make them simple, but profound and I thought just a simple pink ribbon tied to a safety pin would be good, but I can’t find a picture of one to show to make sure the idea would be approved before I make a lot of them. Do any of you know where I can find a picture of just a pink ribbon on a safety pin?
**If possible please provide hyperlinks to pictures. Thanks!
I want a picture of it today so I can show it to be approved so I can go to Walmart tonight to get supplies.
A: Here are a few links that might help you out!! The first pic is with a red ribbon, but you can get the idea. My grandmother died of breast Cancer, so I wish you a lotta luck at your college with raising awareness!!!! Good luck!
