A: i have the same situation.nearly one week late for my period, but test showed negative.i came off pill about month ago..and the same situation is happening with my breasts, speacialy left one.i think its hormonal disbalance.next week im off to doctors too..good luck.x

Q: Need some info please?
Hello I am a 48 year old women. I had a biospy on my left breast last year and a cyst was taken out.
I have to be checked twice a year. They put some kind of staple in my breat a I asked why they said if I ever needed surgery they would know where to go. No one in my family has breast cancer but I was told I am high risk I have dense breasts what ever that means. Well everything seemed okay have not even thought about my breasts but I notced the last couple of days My left nipple is very sore and I felt where they took the cyst out and it is hard as a rock they a big hard place. And above my lest nipple I noticed a a light white patch that feels rough and itches at times and my left breast feels very heavy and have felt some very hard lumps. and it looks like I have a small pimple on my left nipple. The light whithes patch about my nipple feels rough it is hard to explain. I called the doctor to get checked . I do not not if it is my imagation or what. I had some friends feel my breast and they said oh that feels like a big rock in your breast. Do you think this could be breast cancer please be honest. Howcan I be high risk when no one in my family has never had breast cancer? And I wonder why the doctor put that staple in my breast does he think I am going to get breast cancer or what. Sorry so long just needed o get it off my mind and talk to someone.
Thank you very much
Kelli

A: It sounds as if you had a titanium clip inserted in your breast after the biopsy so they needn’t go to that site again, but it’s now causing an adverse reaction so needs removing.Dense breasts means you have less fat & more connective tissue that appears white on a mammogram so as tumors also appear white they may hide behind the tissue so you will probably require a ultra sound to detect any tumors.Try not to worry not all tumors are malignant more often benign or cysts.High risk means women who have had 2 or more biopsies for other benign conditions, starting menstruation early having no children or a pregnancy over 30,diagnoses of atypical hyperplasia, family history,See your Dr for a referral to an oncologist & has you are high risk hopefully they wont make you wait to long.Hope it helps.Good Luck.

Q: I think I have a cyst in my breast??….I’m not sure but I’m seriously freaking out.?
I’m not sure though.

Does anyone know how I can tell for sure whether its one or not, without going to the doctor?
I’ve had it for like,i don’t know 5-6 months. it feels like it gets bigger whenever my breast get larger.
Is this normal?
I don’t fully know what a cyst is.
It really just feel like a large large lump in each breast.
One of the lumps is smaller and thats the smaller breast.

I just turned fourteen.

My breast aren’t very large anyways.
I have not gotten my period yet,and it does not hurt.

This is totally embarrassing, but I don’t care. Really if your going to be sarcastic and rude leave now.

To everyone else-thanks in advance. :)

A: sweetie go see your doctor if you feel lumps on your Brest im not sure but i dont think that good!!
you should feel with you hand and finger tip under the brest area!!!!

A: In answer to this question, no, it doesn’t necessarily mean a teenager has breast cancer if she/he has a lump in each breast! You don’t have to have a lump to have breast cancer. If there is a lump, it could be a cyst and for teens all breast examinations, feeling for changes and LOOKING for changes should be done after menstruation. If the lump remains after menstruation she/he should be seen by a doctor. There are many people who have fibrocystic breasts. To make sure this is a cyst, the doctor can perform a needle biopsy which is non-invasive.

Q: Pregnancy, cyst, ovulation? What does this sound like?
Ok here is some backup information on the situation. I usually get my period between the 22nd and the 24th. Then around the 10th I get dull pinching pains off and on in my ovaries and really sore breasts which im assuming is due to ovulation. This month however things are a little different. This last Friday I was having sex and it was uncomfortable and somewhat painful. Also I have had those pinching pains in my ovaries and it feels almost like a pulled muscle down there? Also I have very sore breasts and period like cramping. I also had bad lower back pains. I am confused because the symptoms of pregnancy and a cyst are similar. Both have the same signs that I am experiencing so I don’t know what to think. So what I am wondering is if anyone felt this way very early in pregnancy or if anyone has had a cyst and felt this?

Also to add to this yes, I do have unprotected sex but we pull out and he has never came inside me. We have been doing this for about 4 months and I haven’t gotten pregnant so is it safe to continue this? (before you say anything I am a young adult not a child so having unprotected sex is absolutely alright I am married).

A: wow I just asked a question just like this! I’m probably not much help to you but I’m feeling exactly the same! However I am on birth control but completely messed it up last month…my breasts have been killing me for days now and I had a god awful shooting pain to my left ovary last night. All day today I have been saying it felt like a pulled a muscle in my uterus lol. Whats weird is that I have not had breast soreness since before I was on the pill when I’m about to start my period. But my period is like 2 1/2 weeks away….Idk whats going on and I’ve been peeing at least every hour today. I’m suspecting pregnancy as well. Hoping to see OBGYN tomorrow. I haven’t experienced painful sex recently but usually that is due to “deeper” sex when the man hits your cervix. Only other time where it was extremely painful for me was when I had a yeast infection. I have had ovarian cysts and I did not feel those until one actually burst and OMG!! That was very painful thats for sure what I thought was happening last night. But when mine burst I was vomitting and could barelystand up straight it was soo painful. I will let you know if I turn out pregnant tomorrow or have another cyst. If I were you I would wait for a missed period or just take a test now. Good luck to you hun I know it’s not fun for me either =(

Q: question about my breast, after a having a cyst.?
so back in november i had a cyst in my breast. it was there for about a month, and right before i was finally about to go to the doctor it popped. i have had a scar since, and could still slightly feel a lump where the cyst was. over the last few days, i have noticed the area i had the cyst is darker and slightly dimpling. however, i can no longer feel the little knot where the cyst is. does this mean the lump is finally decompressing, or could this be a sign that the cyst-affected area could need further treatment? i am unemployed atm and have no medical insurance what so ever, so i would like some feedback before i spend my rent on a doctor trip.

A: My suggestion is trying to absorb as much information as you can before making up your mind, here

is a good one.

Q: Cyst in your breast…?
i am 15 and 2 nights ago my nipple and breast were very sore…i felt it and in my nipple there was a little lump which was very sore (like the size of a pea)…i went to bed and the next day it was even worse, it had grown to the size of like a grape (only not as fat) and i couldn’t even wear a bra…i stayed in bed all day…well this morning i woke up and while the pain wasn’t as bad, the lump was massize, like the diameter of a golfball but not as fat again…i went to the doctor and they said either something was blocked and i might have an infection or i might have a cyst…she was particularily worried because of the rapid growth in size. i go to get an ultra sound on in tomorrow and they said surgery is likely…what do i expect?

A: I have had 2 breast biopsy’s. One was a non cancerous cyst and one an inflamed lymph node. One they found with ultra sound and did a fine wire placement. they locate the lump and place a very thin wire in to mark the area for the surgeon. (the first one they did not do this). They were both day surgery. It was quite sore, both of mine were on the side of my breast so the weight on my breast (I am a DDD) pulled on the incision. I just wore a bra (and slept in one) all the time. They will give you pain pills and ice packs really help. You use your muscles in or behind your breast a lot more than you would think so lifting can hurt. But it is for the best to have them removed. I know how scary it is, try to think positive. My mom died from breast cancer at a young age so I am taking NO chances. Good luck to you!!

Q: Lumps in breast, pain and discomfort, tenderness to touch, fever – what do I have?
Over a year ago, I found a lump in my right breast, and my doctor confirmed that it was just a cyst but to come back every two months if it stayed. Over the months, I’ve gotten multiple cysts in the same area of the same breast, but I’ve skipped/forgotten several of these bimonthly appointments. Also, it was usual for the cysts to grow in size and become more painful around the time of my period. I’ve recently noticed that BOTH my breasts are increasingly sore and tender to touch (even though it’s not time for my period), and last night I discovered a lump in the underarm on both sides. The one on the left is particularly large and doesn’t feel like the cysts in my right breast. I’m not sure if it’s related to the new lumps in my breasts, but I have a mild fever (ranging from 98.9 to 99.5) that started nearly a week ago as well. I’m not sure how reliable it is, but I checked Web, MD and was able to narrow it down do three things: breast cancer, breast cyst, and fibrocystic breasts. I plan on scheduling an appointment with my doctor next week, but if anyone with some medical expertise could narrow it down even further for me (honestly, I’d just like to have my fear of it being breast cancer dashed away), I would really appreciate it.

Other details: I’m a 19-year-old female with no history of recent health issues other than a sore throat, which I believe is unrelated to the fever because the fever began a few days before the sort throat. I’ve tried to include everything here, but if you’d like to know more, feel free to ask.

A: there is normally no pain associated with breast cancer, sounds more like a hormonal problem associated with your age, sounds like you need another dr to go to but with them becoming more painful around the time of your monthly I would doubt it being breast cancer

Q: Do I have a benign cyst on my breast?
There is a spot on my breast that is really annoying me. It doesn’t hurt but it just sometimes is just kinda like pounding???? I don’t know but its a weird feeling but it doesn’t hurt. (Near the left side of my left breast) I had one on my upper butt-ox and the doctor said it was a benign cyst and it was very common it would spread somewhere else. But its really annoying! I’m almost positive thats what it is but how do I stop the uncomfortable feeling! How!!!

A: It could be a muscle. If you think it’s a cyst go talk to your doctor. It would be really bad if it turned out to be malignant.

Q: Breast Cancer or Cyst?
About 10 years or so ago I went to the doctor because my breasts were tender with little bumps under the skin. The doctor said they were cyst. He told me to stop consuming caffeine. So I did, and they went away. About 6 years ago I had implants put in. And about 2 years ago started having pain in my right breast. I went to the doctor and they didn’t find anything. In the mean time I got on this Starbucks coffee kick and I don’t know if the caffeine is causing this, but my right breast has been sore now for 2 months on the right side. I now have bump the size of a penny on it as well. So I have stopped consuming caffeine again now for about 4 days. However the pain is increasing and the bump is getting bigger. It feels like someone is stabbing my breast. I don’t have medical insurance either, I have no money, and I am scared and do not know what to do, any suggestions?

A: i dont know where you live, but find a hospital and ask them for the national breast cancer number. they will do a mammogram at no cost for you, call planned parenthood, something in that nature. your implant could have a small leak in it. but if you’ve experinced lumps before start with a mammogram…

Q: I think i may have BREAST CANCER? :/?
I dont know if its just me worrying that im going to die if i DID have it (cause i am an Anxiety sufferer!) but i just watched a video on YouTube on how you do a self-examination on your self to check for signs of breast cancer & one of te signs were inverted nipples? like pushed in? & sometimes my nipples do that but when i stimulate them they come out? & another sign was saggyness of the skin? but my breasts have always kind of been saggy due to cause i have big boobs? im only 21 but should i be worried? also i know that a lump in the breast can be a sign of breast cancer but when i feel my breasts with my hands i feel all these little like lumps but is that just normal lump tissue lumpiness? does every woman have them lump things in their breast? i know that if you have a lump in your breast 90% of the time its not cancer, its just usually a cyst or something? do you think i should be concerned about them 2 things i have in my breasts? Also ive always had these white lumps on my areolas what is that from? I do have a 2yr old son & i did not breast feed so what are they also?

Thanks.
& sometimes i get lumps in my armpit then they go away after a while? thats also a sign?

A: I wouldn’t worry about it. First of all, having your nipples invert once in awhile is normal, especially if they have always done so (inverting, then coming out later). Second, since your breasts have always been a little saggy, this is also something you should not worry about. Third, several tiny lumps your are feeling in both breast is just breast tissue. Since you are only 21, your breasts are going to be a lot more “lumpier” then say, a woman who is in her 50’s.
Now, any changes that have happened suddenly is a cause for concern. For example, if suddenly the skin on your breast suddenly changes in a way it never has before (like an orange-peel type texture on your skin, or if one breast is red and very warm to the touch. Then, if suddenly one nipple becomes inverted and irritated for more than a day, often accompanied by pain. Also, since both breasts are a bit lumpy, saggy, and both nipples are inverting once in awhile, this is EVEN MORE reason not to worry about a serious problem, especially breast cancer. When you have an inverted nipple, a change in skin, or a lump in ONLY ONE breast and not the other, then that is the time to be concerned. I would not worry at all. Also, your breast tissue becomes more lumpy about a week before and after your menstrual cycle. Tissue will also become more lumpy in both breasts if you eat a lot of chocolate and drink a lot of caffeine. Not only can this cause unharmful lumps, but it can cause fibroadenomas which are benign tumors of the breast but sometimes cause pain. So women should cut back on chocolate and caffeine. But once again, don’t be concerned, your situation sounds perfectly normal.

Q: Home tests? How can you tell the difference between breast cancer and a cyst?
About 10 years or so ago I went to the doctor because my breasts were tender with little bumps under the skin. The doctor said they were cyst. He told me to stop consuming caffeine. A: It is near impossible to determine if a lump is benign or malignant by feel only. And both cancers and cysts can grow, but a cancerous lump will not get smaller. You need to be evaluated by medical professionals.

Call your State Department of Health (number in your phone book). Every state now has a Breast and Cervical Cancer Early Detection Program funded by the US Centers for Disease Control and Prevention. This program offers screening to qualifying women unable to pay for it themselves. Although these programs are generally set up for women who have no symptoms, they should be able to give you some information regarding other programs, which can help you. Best wishes…..

Q: I’m 16 and i feel a lump on my outer side of my breast?
Its located at the outer side of my breast.. like where my arm pits and my breast connect. but its more on the side of my right breast. i’m scared if it’s cancerous.. if it’s a cysts, what should i do? is it bad?

A: At your age breast cancer is virtually unheard of. Seer cancer database doesnt even have records of girls your age having it, because it is so rare.

It is probably a cyst or a swollen lymph node.

Q: So these are my symptoms…?
And it’s too early to test. My LMP was 8/28. I’m at CD 22 & my next period is scheduled for 9/24. I ovulated on hte 15th. I’m 7 DPO.

I keep getting this really thick, white discharge. It’s not normal for me. I know it goes through phases throughout the month, but it’s never THIS thick & even when it’s creamy, it’s before I ovulate, not after. I defnitely don’t have an infection of any kind. If I was to compare it to something, I’d say like a thick lotion or conditioner. And it’s white– not opaque/translucent.

I also had very mild “cramps” yesterday. It wasn’t really cramps, though, more of an uncomfortable pinching in my lower abdomen. On a pain scale of 1-10, it’s about a 2. Only lasted one day. Then this morning, I was working out and the pain came back– but it wasn’t cramps from working out. I know it’s not a cyst either because I’ve had them many, many times and they feel completely different for me and they always come before I ovulate, not a week after.

I’ve been a little more tired the past couple of days, but I know that can be from a number of things. And my right breast feels a little fuller and more tender than usual.

Anyway, it’s too early to take a home test and my dr’s office won’t do blood tests until I miss a period. None of these are anything I usually experience with PMS. What do you think? Are those “symptoms” commonly associated with being pregnant?

(I had my appendix taken out years ago, so please don’t suggest that haha).

A: well i found out that i was pregnant at like 2-3 weeks. i was very early and all most missed it. i threw the test away, but there was just something telling me to go check it, and so i did looking at a pink line. it was great. my breasts were really tender like they hurt, but i also have small breast which I am sure was why I was feeling the tenderness so soon.

Q: Ovarian Cysts – does anyone know about them>?
Just got out of hospital and not really been told much about whats happened, Can anyone shed light?
I went in with bad rhs abdonimal pain. on notes at bottom of bed said ruptured ovarian cyst, Went for scan and found another one on ovary about 3.5 cm long. Still in bad pain but not like when it supposedly burst.
This is not the first time i have had one burst. My grandmother died of an ovarian cyst – they never said if cancerous or not. We dont know anything about her either.
i am worried as have no period and feel bloated, breasts hurting and sick. Also getting really fat and very tired last few weeks. No one explained this in hospital. looking on net have given up as I dont really understand what the differences are?
Can anyone help? Has anyone had this happen?
When does the pain go?
Also been trying for baby for 2 1/2 years with no success is this why?
I had trouble conceiving with my only son perivously too?
Thanks
